Privacy Policy

1. Information we handle

• Instrument and test information: nearby Bluetooth instrument names and addresses, connection status, test results, measurements and weight readings needed for testing and certificate generation.
• Information you enter or select: seller name, gemstone properties and descriptions, stone photos, company text or images, logos, QR images and names you give saved artwork. These items are processed locally to prepare certificates and store reusable artwork. Content included in a generated certificate can also be sent as described above.
• Certificate identifiers and device details: part of the Android device identifier (Android ID) is used with a running number to create the SPI certificate number. That number appears on the certificate and in the certificate email. The email also contains the phone manufacturer/model and Android version.
• Support communications: if you contact us, we receive your email address and the information or attachments you send.
• Website access information: visiting this policy page may generate ordinary server logs, including your IP address, requested page, browser information and access time.

The app does not require a SmartPro user account. It does not ask for access to your contacts, SMS messages or microphone.

2. Permissions and device access

• Bluetooth / Nearby devices: discover and connect to compatible SmartPro instruments and receive their readings.
• Location: Android 6–11 requires location permission and enabled Location services for Bluetooth Low Energy discovery. The app uses this access for discovery; it does not read GPS coordinates or track your movements in the background.
• Camera: take an optional stone photo for a certificate. Company logos, company information images and custom QR images are selected from device storage.
• Photos / files / storage: select and crop images and save or open certificates. The permissions or system picker shown depend on your Android version. The app uses the images you select; it does not upload your entire photo library.
• Internet and network / Wi-Fi state: check connectivity, attempt certificate email delivery and open online resources when requested.

You can manage permissions in Android Settings. Refusing a permission may prevent the related feature from working.

3. How information is used

We use information to connect to instruments, display readings, create identifiable certificate records, prepare and manage certificate files and artwork, deliver certificate copies to SmartPro, and respond to support and privacy requests. Website access logs support operation, troubleshooting and security of the policy website.

4. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. Information can be disclosed in the following ways:

• Certificate delivery to SmartPro: the app attempts to send the certificate image and the accompanying details listed above through Google's Gmail service to SmartPro's certificate mailbox. SmartPro personnel with access to that mailbox can access those copies. Email delivery depends on internet access and availability of the email service.
• Sharing, viewing and printing that you choose: when you select another app, recipient, PDF viewer, print service or printer, the selected service receives the file or information needed for your action. Its own privacy practices apply.
• Service providers: email and website hosting providers process information needed to deliver email and serve this page. Google's handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
• Legal requirements: information may be disclosed where required by applicable law or valid legal process.

A photo or image that you select but do not include in a generated or shared certificate is not sent by the certificate email feature.

5. Analytics and advertising

The current Android build contains Google Firebase Analytics components but is not configured with a Firebase project; analytics collection is not activated in that build. We will update this policy if a release enables analytics collection. The app does not display third-party advertisements or use certificate content for behavioral advertising.

6. Storage, retention and deletion

• On your device: saved certificates, branding selections and artwork remain until you remove them where the app provides that option, clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Temporary images may be cleared earlier by Android. Original photos selected from your library and copies you export elsewhere remain in those locations.
• Device backups: Android backup is allowed by the app. Depending on your device settings and backup provider, some app data may be backed up or restored. You control those backups through your device or backup account.
• Copies received by SmartPro: certificate emails and support correspondence are retained as needed for certificate records, support and applicable legal obligations. Deleting a local certificate or uninstalling the app does not delete an email already delivered to SmartPro. Contact us to request deletion of those copies.
• Website logs and provider copies: logs are retained as needed for operation and security. Email providers, backup systems and recipients of files you share may retain their own copies under their respective policies.

For a deletion request, email smartproinstrument@gmail.com and, if available, provide the SPI certificate number and approximate generation date so we can locate the relevant record. We may need proportionate information to verify your request. We will address requests in accordance with applicable law and explain any required retention. This app has no user account to delete.

7. Security and processing locations

The app uses Android's app storage and file access controls, and the certificate email connection is configured to use SSL/TLS. This policy page is served over HTTPS. Shared files and printed copies are subject to the safeguards of the services you choose. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

SmartPro is based in Thailand. Email and hosting providers may process information in other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

8. Your choices and rights

You can choose which images and text to include, remove optional company artwork, delete saved certificates, manage Android permissions and control where you share or print files. Certificate email delivery is separate from sharing and is attempted automatically during generation when connected to the internet; the current app has no separate switch for that delivery.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, request portability, or raise a concern with a data protection authority. Contact us using the details below to exercise these rights or ask about our practices.

9. Children's privacy

The app is intended for users of gemstone testing instruments and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

10. This website and external links

This policy page requires no login. The page itself sets no cookies and loads no advertising, analytics scripts, external fonts or embedded trackers. The hosting server may record the access information described above. If you follow an external link, the destination's privacy policy applies.

11. Policy changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app or our practices. The updated policy will be published at this URL with a revised last-updated date. Where required, additional notice or consent will be provided.
